Our bodies are amazing!
Our body has an incredible capacity to heal and defend itself against dis-ease. And our body’s ability to create and support immune cells is influenced by our brain.
Our thoughts create the lens in which we see the world, if we are stressed and experiencing emotional turbulence then our immune system and our brain are not communicating clearly to create health from within. When our mind is calm, and our thoughts are more intentional, then we are supporting our immune system’s ability to do what it does best - heal and defend.
Our immune system is designed to adapt to constant changes in our inner and outer environments. And every change can be viewed as an opportunity. A loss of what was, for a gain of what will be.
Energy flowing freely between our body, mind, soul, senses and environment = immune system awake and responsive.
Energy stuck or blocked by fear, worry, stress, lack of communication, poor diet and lack of sleep = immune system congested and susceptible to imbalance and disease.
Tips to keep your immune system awake & responsive
Begin the day with positive thoughts
Here are a few suggestions:
- “Today is a new day, full of opportunity, & possibility.”
- “Today I ask for strength & courage.”
- “Today I allow shifts to happen more easily.”
- “Today I share smiles & practice kindness.”
- “Today, may I be safe, may I be healthy, may I be peaceful & at ease.”
Hydration
Give your body an opportunity to flush toxins by staying hydrated
Water first thing in the morning
- 1-3 glasses of room temp water in the morning (before your other morning beverages)
- Squeeze some lemon into it
Benefits of lemon water:
- Aids digestion
- Protects against disease
- Stimulates organ function
Get your daily intake of water
Suggestion is half your bodyweight in ounces per day
Example: If you weigh 100lbs, your suggested intake is 50oz of water per day.
Boost your immunity with supplements
Here are some of my favorites:
Oil of Oregano
Oregano is a precious plant that has been used medicinally for thousands of years. It has antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties that help your body fight off any unwanted invaders.
I buy it in the capsules. If I am feeling under the weather or I am traveling, I take up to 2 a day as a preventative measure.

Vitamin C
We all know this. The trick is to remember to take it (:

Ginger
Grounding and soothing. Lowers blood sugar levels. Aids in digestion.
I use fresh ginger in warm water and drink it like tea.
Physical Activity
Stress happens. Practice releasing any stress-related hormones by engaging in physical activity. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but, move your body. Bodify the emotions, the feelings, the thoughts and get them out through physically moving your body. Dance. Jump. Run. Walk. Wiggle. Roll around on the ground. Whatever, just move.

Sleep
Get some rest.
I take magnesium to help me rest at night. The magnesium supplement helps to relax my tense muscles so I can get adequate rest. (Ionic magnesium is ideal)
